The latest announcement of a partnership between PundiX (NPXS) and HARA, the Indonesian company dedicated to revolutionizing global agriculture with data, is set to facilitate millions of famers around the world with XPOS systems to enhance data collection and finance inclusion. The project will start off in Indonesia and spread off to various developing countries in future.
“HARA will target a further seven other priority agriculture markets across South and Southeast Asia, Latin America, and East Africa, with a projected future international total base of up to 2 million users.”
With developing countries still highly dependent on agriculture as their main economic activity and a large population of people still remaining unbanked, the project is on its way to prosperity. Not only will famers be able to gain incentives for collecting data using the XPOS devices but they will better their farming techniques and improve their farming using the data.
One of the key goals of Pundi X is to increase the number of banked persons in developing economies in an aim to bring financial inclusion and independence as explained by the President of Pundi X, Constantin Papadimitriou (Kiki). Speaking on the latest partnership with HARA, he said,
“We are proud that the Pundi X POS will soon be rolled out among HARA’s already-impressive network of farming partners and can help facilitate their plans to better such a significant sector of the world economy and the lives of the hundreds of millions of people who depend upon it”.
HARA is a growing company in Indonesia that has partnered with over 10,000 famers in the region. The company aims at offering famers in the country data driven farming technics to improve their overall livelihoods. Over the past few years of existence, the company has assisted a couple of farmers in the region obtain loans and development funds from financial institutions using the data.
Speaking on the latest partnership with Pundi X, HARA’s co-founder and CEO, Regi Wahyu spoke of the great impact HARA is having on the agricultural fields of Indonesia by connecting the missing pieces in global agriculture for the benefit of everyone involved in the supply chain. He further said,
“The data we are already collecting from farmers brings benefits to transportation, to consumers, to commercial interests and to governments. The addition of the Pundi X POS to our ecosystem allows us to connect another missing link, which is the processing of digital payments for the large unbanked populations in global agriculture we’re aiming to serve”.
